Custom Contracting and Services inc. provides special application brush mowing services, with an excavator mounted flail brush mower, for hard to access areas that wheel tractors will never access, mounted on a10,000 lb excavator.

A + Rental sales and Service Inc. is a RockHound Attachment dealer for the Buckhannon area. For people who want to rent this item, they have added this item to the rental fleet that everyone can use, or could have used at one time or another.

The BrushHound 30 EX Flail Brush Mower on a mini excavator arm. Manufactured in the U.S.A. by RockHound Attachments, one of the leading names in hydraulic driven attachments.

If you don’t have the experience, time or capability to operate a machine like this, you can hire this machine by the hour or by the job from Custom Contracting and Services Inc.

This brush mower is designed to work on the arm of a mini excavator, and is a flail mower; flail mowers have many various benefits over the rotary mowers.

The various benefits to a flail mower are:

  1. First off the flail mower is much safer from not throwing brush all directions like rotary mowers.
  2. Will mulch the brush up finer and allow it to go back to the soil quicker or almost immediately.
  3. Cutting capacity 4 inches.
  4. Will not throw mulch and cuttings in all directions like the rotary mower, making it far safer for the operator, and surrounding valuable structures.
  5. Will cut vertically, draws branches and brush material in to the cutter.
  6. In a vertical position, flail mowers are far safer than a rotary mower; the brush is thrown one direction at a 90 degree angle away from the mower.
  7. Smaller mulching reduces the risk of injury to the operator or people working in the area, damage to surrounding valuable structures or other property by flying larger debris, which is common for rotary mowers.
  8. Perfect to maintain roads, utility line right-of-ways, walk trails, fire trails, and any steep road banks, culvert heads or any steep area a wheeled machine can’t access.
  9. Perfect for multi-floral rose.

The various benefits of having a mower on an excavator are:

  1. Our excavator has a cab with heat and AC to help eliminate the potential for anything hitting the operator, reduction in noise, the potential for any bee attacks, the operator won’t have to breathe the dirt and dust from the cuttings, and for operator safety and comfort.
  2. Perfect for cutting in tight hard to access areas other machines can’t access safely, or at all.
  3. Perfect for soft unstable ground or very steep ground not accessible by a rubber tired machine safely, or at all.
  4. Perfect for thick dense brush, multi-floral rose and saplings up to 4 inches thick.
  5. No down time from flat tires.
  6. Will cut on any slope you can safely operate the machine on.
  7. The excavator arm turns to a right angle on the machine so you can run along and cut larger flat areas, or run along a road bank or ditch lines as you cut.
  8. Maximum vertical reach about 24’, maximum horizontal reach about 25’.
  9. Perfect for ditch lines, road banks, culvert heads or any place you can’t access easily, or at all with a wheeled tractor, just to name a few comparisons.
  10. This machine is very versatile.

This mower is very versatile and perfect for most application, and can be rented without an operator, thru A + Rental Sales and Service Inc, or contracted out with an operator, thru Custom Contracting and Services Inc., cost effectively, especially compared to the time savings factor of clearing brush manually with a string trimmer, chainsaw and manual labor, then burning it.

If you don’t have the experience, time or capability to operate a machine like this, you can hire the machine by the hour from our sister company, Custom Contracting and Services Inc.
